Send your student a Hug From Home!

Finals week is the time when UMBC students truly shine, dedicating late nights to mastering their material and pushing through the final stretch! This year, they deserve a little extra comfort. You can send them a warm and cozy reminder of your love with a 'Hugs From Home' blanket and a heartfelt note wishing them well.

By making a donation of $60 or more, you'll provide your student with a super-soft blanket to help them stay cozy during their study sessions.

It's the perfect way to let them know you're thinking of them, even when you can't be there in person.

Welcome to a new year, parents and families!

We want to keep you informed that the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is currently available. If your student is considering applying for financial aid at UMBC for the 2025-2026 academic year and hasn't filled out their FAFSA yet, we highly recommend they do so by the priority deadline of March 1st, 2025. Make sure your student includes UMBC's school code: 002105.

The FAFSA application, along with detailed information on all federal aid programs, can be found at studentaid.gov.

For parents and families of Maryland residents, if your student is interested in applying for state aid, submitting the FAFSA application to UMBC by March 1st will allow the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) to consider your student for state aid eligibility. For more details on MHEC awards and qualifications, please visit mhec.maryland.gov.

If your student has already completed their 2025-2026 FAFSA, congratulations! They are on their way to securing federal aid. Encourage them to monitor their email and myUMBC this month to receive important information about the next steps.

Thank you for your ongoing support in your student’s educational journey.
