Advance Registration for Fall 2022

Posted about 3 years ago  in Parent and Family NewsStudent Success.

The following message was sent to students regarding advance registration. Please encourage your student to review the information below.

It's time to register for Fall 2022! The Fall 2022 Schedule of Classes is now available. Advance registration for undergraduates begins Tuesday, April 5th.

MAKE SURE YOUR PROGRAM INFORMATION IS UP-TO-DATE

Review your academic program information as it appears in the Registration Guide. To view your registration guide, log in to myUMBC and go to Guide, then click on Activity Guides - Registration. If after reviewing your academic program information you wish to add or change a major, minor or certificate, submit a Change of Major form.

PREPARE TO REGISTER

Check the Registration Chart or view the date and time under "Register for Classes" in your Registration Guide to determine the earliest date and time that you can register.

Schedule time to meet remotely with your advisor prior to the earliest date and time that you can register. Advisors need to electronically authorize undergraduate degree-seeking students before registration can occur. Advising contact information for your department appears in your Registration Guide, and an updated listing of departmental advising contacts is available here.

Check the Registration Guide or your myUMBC account to make sure you have no outstanding obligations to the university (such as past due balances or required vaccinations) that may prevent you from registering. Please note that you can still receive advising clearance even if you have an administrative hold. Having your advising clearance in place will help you to register immediately after your hold is removed.

COURSE PLANNING

Use Schedule Builder to help you build the best schedule options possible based on your course selections and times you block out for other events such as work, internships or campus activities. You can also add courses to your Degree Planner by logging into myUMBC, going to your Degree Donut, and clicking on Plan. These tools are also available from the Registration Guide.

As a reminder, Summer Session registration is currently underway. Although advising authorization is not required to register for winter classes, you are encouraged to review your course selections with your advisor.

Please visit the Registrar's Office website for detailed instructions and more information about registration. If you have questions or need more information about registration, please submit a help request.

Sincerely,

Pam Hawley
University Registrar
