The Career Center staff is dedicated to the success of each UMBC student. Whether your student is interested in interning or working for a small non-profit, a Fortune 500 company, or attending a top graduate program, we are here to help.
We encourage all students to connect with our office early and often so we can help provide them with the resources, skills, and experiences they need to achieve professional success. We are here to ensure your student leaves UMBC prepared and confident for life after college and we provide many opportunities for you student to achieve their career goal.
Our annual FALL CAREER & INTERNSHIP FAIR will be Wednesday, September 21, 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. We are excited that this will be an in-person event for the first time since 2019! Please go HERE and select “All Employers” to view an up to date list of those that will be attending. We encourage students at all academic levels to attend the fair and network with employers.
UMBC Connects Series
Each semester the Career Center sets aside select Wednesdays for companies to host a corporate visibility day. These events are held from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and details are available through the center’s website, myUMBC page, and the Handshake platform. Career Corners
These events provide students the opportunity to have casual, one-on-one conversations with employers seeking candidates for intern and entry-level roles. Career Corners are held Tuesday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. throughout the semester. Examples of several upcoming Career Corners:

Information Sessions
Throughout the semester, employers will host information sessions where they can share information about their organization and open roles that may be of interest to students. Examples of upcoming sessions are:

On Campus Interviews
The Career Center offers coordination services to employers that are interested in planning on-campus interviews. Students are able to apply for positions, receive an invitation to participate in an interview, and schedule their interview appointment through our job platform, Handshake. We are excited to have several UMBC alumni return to campus on September 12 to host interviews for positions at Exxon Mobile.
